CWC 2023: Before the IND vs PAK Match, Former Cricketer Raised Big Questions On Bcci Regarding Different Pitches In The Tournament

Former Pakistan Cricket Team cricketer Mohammad Hafeez has targeted BCCI regarding different types of pitches in the World Cup (ICC Cricket World Cup 2023) matches. According to him, BCCI is doing this deliberately. To prove his point, he shared two pictures of the pitch of Chennai Chepauk Stadium field on his Twitter handle. One picture is of the match played between India and Australia, while the other picture is before the match being played between New Zealand and Bangladesh today.

There is a lot of difference in the pitch seen in both the pictures. The pitch of the match between India and Australia seemed dry, which helped the spinners, Team India won that match by 6 wickets. Hafeez also shared a video where he pointed out the similarities between the pitches of the first two matches played in Hyderabad, Delhi, and Dharamshala.

Now he wants the pitch to be made at the Narendra Modi Stadium in Ahmedabad like the opening match of the World Cup between England and New Zealand, which New Zealand won by nine wickets. Talking in this context, the 42-year-old former player said while talking on PTV Sports,

Tomorrow the first thing to be decided will be whether ICC or BCCI is organizing this tournament because till now there are three such venues in which 2-2 matches have been held. The condition of the pitches of Hyderabad and Delhi Dharamshala was the same. The pitch played the same in both matches. If in tomorrow's match (NZ vs BAN) the same pitch is made in Chennai as was made in the match between India and Australia, then I understand the matter. If there is a change in that then you will understand who is organizing this tournament.

This is an ICC tournament and no one can interfere in it. If tomorrow's pitch plays the same way then I can understand it, but if there is even a slight change in it, be it in terms of batting or bowling, then it will raise a big question.

It is noteworthy that tomorrow Pakistan will face India in the tournament. Their record against Team India in the World Cup has been very shameful. At present, most of the players of the Indian team are in amazing form and they will take the field with the intention of maintaining their winning streak.
