Let us tell you that the company introduced its 5 electric SUVs last year. All these electric vehicles (EVs) will be built on the company's new INGLO EV skateboard platform.


Mahindra will sell these electric SUVs through two new sub-brands XUV.e and BE (Born Electric). Mahindra has introduced two models under XUV.e, XUV.e8 and XUV.e9, while BE has introduced three models, BE.05, BE.07 and BE.09. Information about the price and availability of Mahindra BE.09 in the country will be revealed at the time of its launch. It is believed that its price could be around Rs 40 lakh.


Mahindra BE.09 design, specifications and features


Mahindra BE.09 is a born electric car of the company. It is built on the new INGLO EV skateboard platform. From the front, this car looks much more muscular than the Mahindra XUV300. The rear design is similar to the Mercedes-Benz GLE Coupe. It has headlamps and an attractive bonnet on its bumper. Daytime running lights (DRLs) will also be available in it. The length of this electric car is 4740mm, the width is 1900mm and the height is 1760mm.


Mahindra will use an 80kWh battery pack in its upcoming electric SUV. Its power output will range from 230PS to 350PS. Once charged it will be able to travel 500 km. This could include battery cells and electric motors being used in Volkswagen's MEB electric platform. Many parts of the battery and motor used in it will be imported from Volkswagen's factory.


This electric car can be provided with a 5-seater or 7-seater premium cabin with a panoramic sunroof, 2-zone automatic climate control, rear parking sensor, and engine start-stop button. It will have a Sony 3D audio system, digital instrument cluster, and touchscreen infotainment system supporting Android Auto and Apple CarPlay. For safety, an autonomous emergency brake, cruise control, 7 airbags, an anti-lock braking system (ABS) with EBD, and smart pilot assistance can be available.
