Toyota Will Bring 6 Suvs In The Indian Market – From Fortuner Hybrid To 7-Seater Corolla Cross

Here is information about Toyota's upcoming SUVs, which are expected to be launched in India in the next few years.

Toyota will likely launch the Maruti Suzuki Front-based Urban Cruiser Taser coupe SUV in India soon, while a mild-hybrid version of the Fortuner will arrive in 2024. Here we are giving information about possible upcoming Toyota SUVs in India and their launch timeline.

1. Toyota Fortuner Hybrid

Fortuner has long been a leader in the full-size SUV segment and next year it will get a mild-hybrid GD series diesel engine. It is not yet known whether it will be introduced with the next-generation Fortuner or with the existing model. It will also be available in Hilux in international markets. Speculations indicate that an all-new Fortuner will make its global debut in 2024.

2. Toyota Electric SUV

Suzuki will likely unveil its production-spec EVX late next year before debuting in the Indian market in early 2025. This will give birth to a Toyota sibling for the domestic as well as international markets. This 5-seater electric SUV will also be based on the 27PL platform and can be offered in single and dual-motor configurations and is claimed to have a driving range of over 550 km on a single charge.

3. 7-seater Toyota Corolla Cross

The global Toyota Corolla Cross will be modified for use as a 7-seater in India and will be built at Toyota's new plant in Karnataka in early 2026. Given that the Corolla Cross shares its TNGA-C platform with the Innova HighCross, we can expect the 2.0-litre strong hybrid petrol engine to be offered with the three-row premium SUV as well.

4. Toyota Urban Cruiser Taser

Toyota is benefiting from its partnership with Maruti Suzuki and will next introduce the urban cruiser Taser. It is nothing but a rebadged version of the FrontX compact SUV coupe and will have the same performance numbers and feature list. It will be powered by 1.2-liter NA petrol and 1.0-liter turbo petrol engines with MT and AT options.

5. Toyota Land Cruiser Prado

The Land Cruiser nameplate is extremely popular in India and the LC 300 has found a lot of takers since its launch in the market. Similarly, the all-new Land Cruiser Prado could be introduced in the near future but there is no official confirmation yet. It is offered in multiple powertrain options elsewhere and has a completely redesigned exterior and interior.

6. Toyota Land Hopper

A compact version of the Land Cruiser Prado is being developed for global markets and will serve as a rival to the five-door Suzuki Jimny. Recently a teaser has also been released and it is said that it can also be brought to India in the future. The Toyota bZ small crossover concept-based EV is also in preparation for emerging markets.
