The breakup data of Maruti Suzuki's September 2023 sales has been revealed. This time premium hatchback Baleno was number 1 for the company. Maruti is selling a total of 17 models from Arena and Nexa dealerships. The top available at these dealerships are Baleno, WagonR, Brezza, Swift, and Dezire. Whereas, if we talk about the last 5 models, were Jimny, S-Presso, Ignis, Ciaz, and Invicto. That means Invicto was the least-selling model for the company. It has been designed on the lines of Toyota Innova, but its sales figures seem quite weak at the moment. Let us first show you the sales breakup data of Maruti.


Last month, 18,417 units of Maruti Baleno, 16,250 units of WagonR, 15,001 units of Brezza, 14,703 units of Swift, 13,880 units of Dezire, 13,528 units of Ertiga, 11,736 units of Grand Vitara, 11,455 units of Front and 11,147 units of Eeco were sold. Baleno had a 12.21% market share and WagonR had a 10.78% market share.


Now talking about the other models of the company, there are 7,791 units of Alto, 4,511 units of XL6, 3,246 units of Celerio, 2,651 units of Jimny, 2,560 units of S-Presso, 2,056 units of Ignis, 1,491 units of Ciaz and 389 units of Invicto. Sold. In this way, the company sold a total of 1,50,812 units. In September 2022, this figure was 1,48,380 units. That means the company got a YoY growth of 1.64%.


Features and Specifications of Number-1 Baleno


The front grille of Baleno is wider than the old one. In this, the honeycombed Pantange grill with silver strip will be seen on the front. Warround headlights have been installed with this grille. The headlights will also be wider than the old model. The projector units installed in it will come with the new three-element LED DRL signature.


New C-shaped LED tail lights have been provided on the backside. The rear bumper has also been changed in this. The position of the brake red light in the bumper has been changed. However, the tailgate shape, rear glasshouse, and spoiler look remain the same on both models. Even in profile, both models look almost identical. The window line of the new Baleno is a chrome strip that extends to the rear quarter glass.


The length of the new Baleno is 3990mm, the width is 1745mm, the height is 1500mm and the wheelbase is 2520mm. The AC vents of the new Baleno have been redesigned. It has a free-standing touchscreen infotainment system. The instrument cluster will also be of new design. The automatic climate control switchgear has also been changed and placed slightly lower. The front seats are new and the steering wheel will get a new design.


Baleno has a 1.2-litre, four-cylinder K12N petrol engine. It will generate a power of 83bhp. At the same time, another option will be a 1.2-litre dualjet petrol engine, which will generate power of 90bhp. Manual and automatic transmission options are available in it. Baleno CNG has a 1.2-litre dual jet petrol engine. It generates a power of 78ps and a peak torque of 99nm.


This premium hatchback will have a 360-degree camera. This is the first car in its segment with this feature. It will have a 9-inch SmartPlay Pro Plus touchscreen infotainment system. It has been prepared jointly by Suzuki and Toyota. This infotainment system supports wireless Android Auto and Apple Car Play. HUD features in the car will also be seen for the first time in this segment.


Along with connected car technology, Baleno has many other segment-first features including wireless phone charging, Alexa voice command, head-up display, a new flat-bottom steering wheel, and cruise control. Most of the features can be controlled from the steering. The digital meter will be found on the front glass of the car itself. ARKAMYS surround system will be available for excellent music. 6 airbags have also been installed in it.


So far, it has features for safety like 6 airbags, Electronic Stability Program (ESP), Hill-Start Assist, 360-degree camera, ABS with EBD, ISOFIX child seat anchorage, reversing camera, and rear parking sensor. Beleno is sold in four variants - Sigma, Delta, Zeta, and Alpha. Its ex-showroom price starts from Rs 8.38 lakh.
