If The Budget Is Rs 5.50 Lakh, Then Buy This Car Blindly, Lakh Times Better Than Maruti Celerio, 4-Star Safety

Maruti Celerio Options And Rival: Many options have become available even in low-priced vehicles in the Indian market. If we talk about cars coming in the budget of Rs 5-7 lakh, then earlier only a few selected cars were available in this segment, now many companies are selling their cheap cars. There is now a competition to provide better build quality, features, and specifications even among low-budget vehicles.

At present, the market leader of this segment is Maruti Suzuki which is selling more than half a dozen models. Even though Maruti sells the maximum number of cars in this segment, the company has not been able to win the trust of customers in terms of build quality and durability. Budget hatchback cars like Maruti Alto, Celerio, and Swift have been given very low scores for safety in crash tests. Now car customers have also started becoming aware of their safety, due to which an increase in the sales of cars with higher safety ratings has been seen in recent times.

If your budget is Rs 5-6 lakh and you are looking for a car with a good safety rating at this price, then there is only one car available in the Indian market to meet all your demands. Here we are talking about Tata's cheapest car Tata Tiago which has got 4-star rating for safety in the Global NCAP crash test. The ex-showroom price of Tiago starts from Rs 5.60 lakh and goes up to Rs 8.20 lakh.

As far as safety is concerned, Celerio has been given zero stars (0-star) in the Global NCAP crash test. That means this car is not at all safe from a passenger safety point of view. The price of Maruti Celerio ranges between Rs 5.37 lakh to Rs 7.14 lakh (ex-showroom).

Tata Tiago has a 1.2-litre petrol engine which generates 86 bhp power and 113 Nm torque. This car is also available in the CNG variant. The option of a 5-speed manual and 5-speed AMT gearbox is available with this car. Talking about mileage, it is claimed to get a mileage of 19.01 kmpl in the petrol variant and 26.49km/kg in the CNG variant.

Whereas Maruti Celerio has a 1-liter petrol engine which generates a maximum power of 67 bhp and a peak torque of 89 Nm. The company claims that its petrol variant gets a mileage of 26 km and its CNG variant gets 35 kmpl. If we look at the price, both the cars are available at almost the same price range but the safety rating and build quality of Tiago is much better than Maruti Celerio.
